Design and Construction Process

As consultants, we work collaboratively with your consultant team to coordinate and deliver
the landscape component of any project to achieve your end goal. As a full service professional consultancy, we can deliver your project
from Concept to Certification, or if required only a portion of the phases below depending on your requirements. 

Preliminary Phase

Preliminary Design

In conjunction with your consultant team, we can provide preliminary design advice centered around Architectural and Civil Engineering constraints. Taking a broad view, our first port of call is to review the site, the existing landscape elements on site including existing vegetation, topography and surrounding context. 

Concept & Development Approval Phase

Schematic Design and Development Approval

Producing concepts, ideas and determining character are just some of the things we address in Schematic Design Phase. These principles as well as consideration of any Local Authority constraints are the first step in producing a landscape concept for any particular development approval. 

Design Development Phase

Design Development

After achieving development approval from the local Authority, developing your design further towards detailed design is the next step in the process. Our advice at this phase of the project can also include estimated construction costs to ensure your landscape is still on budget. 

Building Approval Phase

Operational Works or Building Approval

Depending on the scale of your project and the Conditions achieved through Development Approval, the next step in the process is to achieve Operational Works or Building Approval. Detailed drawings are produced which form the basis of Tender drawings.

Tender Phase

Landscape Construction Estimate

As part of the project tender process, we can provide tender drawings and associated documents including a Bill of Quantities to ensure you are receiving comparable quotes from Landscape Contractors. This is an important part of the project and ensuring you are receiving value for money prior to engaging any contractors will affect the end result. We can provide these services separately or as part of the builder's process. 

Construction Phase

Construction

Construction can be a demanding part of any project. We have the experience and track record to deliver on-going advice as part of your consultant team as your project progresses toward completion.

Contract Administration Phase

Contract Administration Phase

We also provide a full service consultancy if required which means administering the contractor during construction. A range of services are required in this process and we have the experience to monitor the landscape contractor on your behalf as they build your landscape. 

Certification Phase

Defects and Certification

Depending on the scale and type of project, you may require a landscape defects process as part of the overall builder's engagement and/or Certification to meet the Local Authority Conditions. We can provide these services and deliver thorough reports that identify any inconsistencies with the approved tender and construction work packages.

Ensuring you are receiving what you are paying for is an important part of the process and our role is to identify any inconsistencies as a transparent process.
